About McDreams

Technology as a philosophy: Since its founding in 2009, the family-run McDreams Hotels have consistently pursued a digital-first concept to provide guests with a fully automated, and therefore relaxing, hotel experience. As part of its company-wide automation strategy, the hotel group expanded its tech stack with Hotellistat at the end of 2023 - a significant milestone on the path to sustainable success and smart process automation.

Challenges and goals

The revenue management system we used before Hotellistat offered us limited automation options, and we struggled with inaccurate forecasts, price recommendations, and regular transmission and interface issues.

As a budget product, McDreams operates in a highly competitive pricing environment where even a one-euro difference can be decisive. The requirements were therefore clear: fully automated processes, AI-based revenue strategies, and the ability to respond quickly to market changes.

Implementation and solutions

The McDreams team has been working intensively with ARIS’s automation options for over a year now. They particularly value the extensive data foundation for decision-making, enabled by AI, when it comes to daily pricing.

However, Christoph notes that it wasn’t just the innovative technology that tipped the scales in favor of Hotellistat:

The ongoing start-up character, the proximity, and the personal contact ultimately convinced us.

Another crucial factor is the speed of response in emergencies. So far, all problems have been resolved on the same day or within a very short time.

Successes

McDreams set numerous records last year. These include, for example, a 75% average occupancy rate across all nine hotels, which has since increased to 85% in the current year.

For its revenue management, the hotel group consults Revenue Rebels, who also work with Hotellistat’s data to continuously refine McDreams’ revenue strategy.

Through intensive collaboration with ARIS, McDreams is gradually automating new processes and is well on its way to achieving the greatest possible level of full automation - with a particular focus on AI-driven forecasts and price recommendations.
